Teacher of Science, Ms Kirkman, tells us more:

“Our Year 13 physics students had the exciting opportunity to visit the Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank, one of the largest fully steerable radio telescopes in the world. The visit focused on  enhancing their understanding of Radio Astronomy, identifying the challenges of observing outside the optical spectrum and why it is so important to advance our understanding of the  universe we exist in. The trip provided a unique chance to explore this iconic World Heritage Site, which has played a pivotal role in the study of astrophysical phenomena like pulsars. The  students were both inquisitive and exceptionally well-behaved throughout the day, serving as a true credit to the school.”
